This report, from Chief Social Worker for Adults Lyn Romeo, sets out progress made to improve the quality of education, training and practice of social work with adults in the last year.
The report highlights the main priorities and issues for the adult social work profession, including:
- repositioning social work practice and professional leadership at the heart of adult social care
- working with ADASS and the Principal Social Workers Network to demonstrate the value of social work to an integrated health and care system
- continuing to improve standards of social work education, training and practice in key areas of social work with adults and creating a system of social work regulation which will further raise standards across the whole profession
The report also features case studies from local authorities across the country, including examples of rights and strengths-based approaches, social work in mental health, workforce development and integration.
