David will introduce the concept of Human Rights at Sea, providing an interesting insight into the background, context and need for a specific focus on human rights in the maritime environment.
David will go on to consider the ethical dimensions of Human Rights at Sea, exploring issues such as migrant rescue, illegal deportations, and murder enquiries. David will then give an insight in to the organisations’ own ethical research policy and it’s use, considering research in Africa, fisheries research, pressure to disclose, data protection and transparency.
