Grandma remember me?

November 18, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

The Hull Dementia Collaborative and Butterflies Memory Loss Support Group will be hosting a performance of Grandma Remember Me? A play about dementia care. A must see for care home staff, professionals and family members supporting someone with dementia.

Grandma Remember Me? is told through a mix of puppetry, drama and storytelling. It is written from the perspective of a young child, Lilly, whose Grandma develops Alzheimer’s disease. It explores their changing relationship from Lilly’s initial recognition that there is something wrong with her grandma, through the unfolding challenges and final acceptance and understanding of the disease.

It explores the wider impact on family, the need for support and understanding within our communities and the importance of memories and relationships within our lives and how to keep and treasure them. It is a piece of high quality theatre, very powerful, realistic and deeply moving.

Suitable for all the family, of all ages.  This performance will be attended by some of the local primary schools, but is also open the the public.  If you have a group of young people you would like to bring along please contact Butterflies in advance

Doors open for information stalls at 12.30
