Meet Fred from Hijinx and Blind Summit Theatre

March 17 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Meet Fred. He is just a regular guy who wants to get on in life. He wants a good job and to settle down with a nice girl. The only problem is that Fred is a two-foot tall cloth puppet and day to day life is tough when you rely on three other guys being with you at all times. Out for a quiet walk, on a date, in the bathroom, life is never simple for the puppets among us.

Blind Summit are one of the UK’s leading contemporary puppetry innovators. Their shows The Table and Citizen Puppet have enjoyed huge success in recent years, both at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and on extensive national and international tours. Hijinx are one of the UK’s leading inclusive theatre companies. Expect something edgy, surprising, sometimes uncomfortable, sometimes hilarious, sometimes beautiful, but always with a cast that includes artists with learning disability. The cast of Meet Fred includes two actors with Aspergers and one with Downs’s syndrome, working as equals alongside four actors without learning disabilities.

The show contains strong language and is recommended for ages 14+. Although not suitable for children, the show may be of interest to parents, carers and older people with autism.
