‘Prevent’ Training

November 16, 2016 @ 8:45 am - 9:45 am

Sector Support North East Lincolnshire have organised a training session by Detective Constable Lee Ross, who is the Southbank lead for Prevent.

‘Prevent’ forms part of the government’s counter-terrorism strategy, and is primarily about safeguarding people and communities from the threats associated with terrorism. The voluntary sector has a vital role to play in safeguarding the people we support from extremism – for example ensuring vulnerable people are protected from radicalisation from different groups.

DC Ross’s training will cover the key themes of Prevent, including the reporting mechanisms for cases where concerns have been raised.

It should be suitable for any voluntary sector organisation, and is essential for those who want to update their safeguarding policies and procedures to incorporate Prevent.

The training is free and has been timed to coincide with the start of the Sector Support Funding Fair in the Main Hall at Centre 4. To register for a place on the Prevent training please email heather@nbforum.org.uk with your name, organisation and any access requirements.
