Fixed Term Contract: Until 31 March 2019 (Review of possible extension to contract)

NJC Scale: SO2.33 – £29,323 (pro- rata)

HCHFH are looking to appoint a qualified Social Worker with current, hands-on experience of working with children and families.  They require a person who is able to work collaboratively as part of a team, committed to helping families maintain their resilience in the face of serious, life-challenging illness.

The successful candidate will need to be a good communicator, able to manage a small team within a charity with an innovative approach, and able to represent the team to other agencies and funders.

They are looking for an experienced Service Manager who will have responsibility for the overall project, reporting directly to HCHFH Chief Executive Officer, HCHFH Board of Trustees and City Health Care Partnership Management.  The successful applicant will act as case manager, will be responsible for responding to referrals and matching children and families to appropriate volunteers and staff members, whilst working alongside the palliative multi-disciplinary CHCP Medical Team.

A Social Work qualification is essential, with a minimum of 5 years post qualifying experience in supporting children and families, including supervision of staff and volunteers.

Essential: Car user with transport reimbursement (including taxi fares for employee with a disability).
