Diabetes nurses from Diana Princess of Wales hospital are taking part in the Mayor’s charity challenge on 1st May, please do come along to cheer them on.
It is estimated that there is over 590,000 people in the UK living with diabetes that have yet to be diagnosed, with over 3.9 million living with diabetes in the UK. In NE Lincs, there are more than 9,200 people who are diagnosed with diabetes. On average 392 people per year are diagnosed within NE Lincs , this remains above national average.
In this Mayoral year, it is the intention to increase aware of the risks of Diabetes, and get people to understand the types, causes and symptoms. Funds raised will enable the Diabetes centre team to purchase new & innovative educational resources to engage people of all ages and purchase latest developments in equipment.
