Smart Energy GB In Communities

Deadline 19th July

Smart Energy GB is the voice of the smart meter rollout. It’s their task to help everyone in Great Britain understand smart meters, the national rollout and how to use their meters to get their gas and electricity under control.

Smart Energy GB in Communities is part of Smart Energy GB’s campaign to inform and inspire people about smart meters and the benefits they can bring.

Through Smart Energy GB in Communities they are partnering with regional and local organisations from the voluntary and public sectors. These partnerships will help ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn about smart meters, regardless of personal circumstance or where they live.

Smart Energy GB in Communities is providing a range of advice and support to partners, including funding to help deliver projects and activities that engage their communities with the smart meter campaign.

The programme supports those who might find it difficult to engage with the smart meter rollout. In 2017, they are targeting funding and support to people over the age of 65 who have no personal internet access.

The Small grant is for charities and other not-for-profit organisations whose projects are directly engaging with people from Smart Energy GB’s priority group at a localised level within their local community. This could involve a range of activities, including: visible events within your communities; training frontline workers from other organisations; or adding value by extending existing events or services. Awards under this programme will be from £500 up to £5,000.
