The HIP Gallery

HIP Gallery is a voluntary, not for profit organisation that showcases touring exhibitions and commissions photographers to create work, situated in Princes Quay Hull.

Acting as a hub for learning, HIP offers weekly HIPclubs and workshops for all ages and provides a platform for newly qualified, amateur & emerging photographers of any age and ability to immerse themselves in the world of photography. The gallery has a full calendar of events including ‘HIP Photography Festival’, a globally recognised festival for professional and amateur photographers to exhibit, network and exchange ideas

The HIP gallery ,  are always on the lookout for enthusiastic people who are willing to give up their time and expertise in an effort to help them achieve a fantastic festival each year.

As a HIP volunteer you will gain valuable experience in administration and marketing, documentation (photographing, filming and editing), exhibition installation / de-installation and stewarding.

If you are interested in volunteering at HIP, they will provide training and support in positions that suit a wide range of applicants from all backgrounds.

Don’t worry, there are no specific requirements for volunteering beside a passion for photography and a keenness to volunteer.

Volunteering for HIP is also a fantastic opportunity for students to gain work experience within the arts and gallery sector. The chance to work alongside Alan Raw, founder and curator of HIP is an opportunity not to be missed with his extensive knowledge of the industry and sheer passion for the arts.
