- Do you want to help change things for the better?
- Do you want to get involved in running an influential and important local charity?
Citizens Advice York provides advice to local residents on virtually any issue, but the majority of people ask about debt, employment, benefits and family problems.
They are looking for volunteers to join the Trustee Board to lead the charity, help them develop their services for the local people who need them and secure the vital resources needed to go forward.
Can you give time and commitment to help support them?
They are keen to have a diverse board that reflects the local community in York and welcome applications from all members of the community from different backgrounds.
Knowledge or experience of Citizens Advice is not essential. They are looking for people with a wide variety of skills and a diversity of experiences, and are particularly keen to increase the Board’s skills in the areas of marketing, fundraising, HR, operations management and the voluntary sector.
The Board has six full meetings a year, and some smaller committee meetings, to look at what has been done in the last months and to plan for the future.
