Views and experiences of children in care

The National Children’s Bureau in conjunction with Research in Practice has published A rapid review of sources of evidence on the views, experiences and perceptions of children in care and care leavers.

The purpose of this report, commissioned by the Children’s Commissioner, was to assess the feasibility of using existing sources of evidence for a future State of the Nation report on the views and experiences of children in care and care leavers in England. In recent years, policy makers have become increasingly aware of the need to hear directly from children in care. Government, local authorities, and advocates all agree that the young person’s voice should be central to decisions about service design as well as individual care planning
