Vulnerable children in England

The Children’s Commissioner for England has published On measuring the number of vulnerable children in England.

The preliminary report and accompanying technical papers set out the scale of vulnerability among children in England.  They bring together information held by government departments, agencies and others.   Many of the figures are likely to underestimate the actual number of children living vulnerable lives.  Over the next year, the Commissioner will use statutory powers to request additional data from local authorities, government departments and others.
