What do we do?
Sector Support and Development
North Bank Forum’s Sector Support and Development team are working on a three-year programme to unlock the potential of the voluntary and community sector and develop its capacity for change.
There are several areas of work that the team will undertake –
• Encouraging effective and equitable partnerships between organisations to increase tendering and funding opportunities for the sector
• Looking ahead to changes in the way services are commissioned, procured and delivered to ensure the sector has the best possible opportunities to be involved at every level
• Acting as a signposting service for VCS organisations that want or need to develop their capacity
• Offering an organisational ‘health check’ to examine areas for development and improvement
• Ensuring commissioning teams have an accurate picture of the sector’s strengths and qualities
• Incorporating the highest standards of equality and inclusion in all aspects of work and ensuring that pro-active engagement with groups and organisations is undertaken
• Helping VCS organisations to become more robust and to prepare for the challenges they face by being pro-active in seeking new opportunities
• Sharing best practice across the sector
If you represent a voluntary sector group or organisation and would like to get involved or receive more information, please contact Helen Schofield or Pippa Robson (Partnership Co-ordinators) on 01482 499041/499032 (helen@nbforum.co.uk / pippa@nbforum.co.uk)
Commercial companies may also be involved in effective partnerships, so please get in touch if you represent a private business and are interested in working with the voluntary and community sector.
