Gypsy and Traveller Awareness Workshops
A workshop about the Gypsy and Traveller way of life, culture, local provision and work and legislation affecting the community
These workshops will give a useful insight into the Gypsy and Traveller Community and some of the knowledge and experience gained by local Gypsy and Traveller Community Development Workers.
The workshop is aimed at councillors, statutory and voluntary community sector workers and volunteers with an interest or remit to work with the Gypsy and Traveller community across the region.
2010 workshop dates:
Thursday 9th September – 1.00 - 3.30pm – Bridlington Fire Station, Bessingby Road, Bridlington
Wednesday 6th October – 10am – 12.30pm – Community Enterprise Centre, Cottingham Road, Hull
Wednesday 3rd November – 1.00 – 3.30pm – The Courtyard, Boothferry Road, Goole
Light refreshments will be provided during the short break.
The sessions will be led by Elaine Brattan, Hull Gypsy and Traveller Project; Lindsey Jones, Hidden Voices Project; and Community Representatives.
£30.00 per place, with monies going back to support community projects (Refundable only if places cancelled 1 month prior to the training)
