BIG builds on reaching communities
From December 2010, Community buildings within targeted urban and rural settings will be eligible for funding between £100,000 and £5o0,000 through the Reaching Communities programme.
Community buildings play an important role bringing people together and providing a space for a wide range of community activities to take place. Unfortunately many existing buildings are underused as a result of their poor condition.
BIG will be targeting funding to bring back some of these buildings into vibrant use.
Community and voluntary organisations along with parish/town councils from the eligible areas are able to apply from the £75 million pot of funding which will be assessed on a rolling basis and an Eligibility Checker will be available online shortly.
